About Teen Challenge Canada

What is Teen Challenge?

Teen Challenge Canada operates 12-month in-residence alcohol and drug addiction rehabilitation programs, for adults 18+, with centres located in Alberta, Atlantic Canada, Saskatchewan and Ontario. We offer help and hope to those struggling with alcoholism and/or addiction to other drugs. Those in addiction, their family and friends, begin their restoration at Teen Challenge.

How do I apply for the program?

To begin the process, you need to fill out an application form and submit it, you can print one to fill out or fill it out online by following this link.

Who do you accept?

Our program is for adults 18+, and  while our program is faith-based, and includes Christian biblical teachings, you do not have to be religious to attend our program.

How much does the program cost? Is there financial assistance available?

There is a $100 non-refundable application fee that can be paid online, or at your assessment interview. If approved for intake, there is an entry fee of $1000 payable upon admission. Private donors and sponsors cover all other costs such as room and board.

At no time is anyone turned away due to financial burdens, if you are unable to pay the fee you are still welcome. Your intake coordinator can answer additional questions. 

How long is the program?

Our core program is 12-months, this can be extended by 6 or 12 months with our optional Phase4 program, based on availability and eligibility.

How Fundraising Works

How do I create a fundraiser?

You can start anytime by clicking the 'Start Fundraiser' button. 

From there, choose your event type and click 'Get Started', where you will be taken to your registration and event set up page. 

Straight away, you'll receive a registration e-mail with login details for your online fundraising page.

What types of fundraisers can I do?

You can choose from a variety of fundraising options to support Teen Challenge Canada. Whether you walk or run, donate your day, give something up, host an event, fundraise in memory of someone, or create your own unique challenge, there’s a way for everyone to get involved.

How do I share my fundraiser and get donations?

You can easily share your fundraiser through social media, email, or direct messages. The fundraising platform allows you to send emails directly from your dashboard and provides links to share your page with friends, family, and supporters. The more you spread the word, the greater the impact you can make!

Where does the money I raise go?

The funds you raise go directly to supporting addiction recovery in Canada. Your fundraising helps people in region find help and hope through the Teen Challenge Canada program.

Can I fundraise as a team or with a group?

Yes! You can create a team fundraiser by setting up one event and inviting others to join. Each team member can help promote the fundraiser and collect donations under the shared event. Ensure that everyone has access to the page so they can track progress and contribute to the fundraising efforts.

Do you provide any fundraising tools or resources?

At this time, we do not provide additional fundraising toolkits or resources. However, the fundraising platform makes it easy to create and share your page, track donations, and engage with supporters.

Are donations tax-deductible?

Yes, all donations to Teen Challenge Canada are tax-deductible. Donors will receive a tax receipt via email immediately after making their contribution.

What does it mean to make a donation in memory of someone?

Making a donation in memory of a loved one is a way to honour and celebrate their life while making a lasting impact. Donations made in their name support addiction recovery programs and help individuals find freedom from substance use.

What should I write on my in-memory page?

Your message is personal and should reflect what feels right to you. You may wish to share:
  • Special memories, life achievements, or passions of your loved one
  • Their unique qualities that family and friends cherished
  • How they inspired you or impacted your life
  • A closing tribute, such as "[Name] will always be remembered and forever in our hearts."

Can I request donations in lieu of flowers? || How do I request donations in lieu of flowers?

Yes, requesting donations in place of flowers is a meaningful way to honour your loved one’s memory. Here’s an example of wording you can use in an obituary or announcement:

"In honour of [Name], the family requests that memorial donations be made to Teen Challenge Canada. To contribute, please visit [your fundraising page link] or call [TCC donation contact]."

Will donors receive a tax receipt?

Yes, all donations made through your in-memory fundraiser are tax-deductible. Donors will receive a tax receipt via email immediately after making their contribution.

Will donation amounts be publicly visible?

When making a donation, individuals have the option to share their donation amount or remain anonymous. If a donor chooses to be anonymous, their information will only be visible to Teen Challenge Canada staff and the page creator.
